Tell your local MP to support an end to adoption discrimination NOW |

 Clover Moore has introduced the Adoption Amendment (Same-Sex Couples) Bill to remove discrimination against same-sex couples in adoption law. The Bill furthers the best interests of children by permitting same-sex couples eligibility to adopt. Prospective parents should be assessed on objective criteria, not on their sexual orientation.
Take action now and tell your local MP that adoption equality will promote the best interests of children and urge them to support the Bill. Demand immediate adoption equality to end the last piece of direct legislative discrimination against same-sex couples in NSW. |

Youth Advocacy and Campaigning Training Day |
|
As part of the Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL) youth engagement and the City of Sydney Community Education Campaign Grant of $20 800, the GLRL will develop an internship training program for young persons aged 18-25. The Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) will provide the accredited training in a range of areas including advocacy, lobbying, media and the law.
The aim of the training day is to provide activists with skills in advocacy, lobbying and peer education in same-sex law reform.
Internship opportunities will be available following the training program.

I Do... Support Marriage Equality |
|
 The Australian Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee is currently considering whether same-sex couples should be allowed to marry.
Thanks to all who made a submission in support of civil marriage equality using the GLRL's online form. We received approximately 600 submissions through our website alone.
