"Our Family" Project
C.Moore Hardy is a community artist with work in the NSW State Library, National Library, Canberra and the City of Sydney Archive/online @ ArchivePix. Working as a commercial photographer for 20 years she has documented the gay, lesbian and queer Community in Sydney & overseas for around 30 years, (even shooting the first cover photos for the Sydney Star Observer). C.Moore has a new venture, the "Our Family" photographic project and she wants you to be involved!

"Our Family" is about generating images of GLBT family and friends. These images will be distributed on DVD to appropriate educational institutions and community organisations to contribute to raising awareness of the changing faces and diversity of families in modern Australia.

C.Moore said that, "the project stems from her love of the community and the lack of images of "OUR Families.

"She went on to say, "It is also about allowing GLBT people to tell their stories. Hopefully it will be engaging and educating for all communities. 'Family' for the GLBT Community is our preferred group of friends who are there when we need them."

Family photos will be taken in the "Our Family Photo Booth at the 2011 Mardi Gras Fair Day at Victoria Park in Sydney on Sunday February 20.

To have your photo taken you must register prior and be available between 10am - midday at Fair Day.

Any family photographed will receive a print of their family portrait at a later date. All participants will be required to sign a release form & write a paragraph-bio of their family. These images & words will then be collated, so that the images can be used for historical and promotional purposes.

C.Moore went on to explain that, "Our families are growing in numbers and we need more changes to attitudes and the Law - so that our families and their children are not discriminated against."
