Pride Festival Launch

Last Wednesday evening we celebrated the launch of this year's Pride Festival at the Stonewall Hotel.

Co-Convenor Lainie Arnold, her partner Kate Connors and committee member Jack Arthur Smith donned the GLRL t-shirts and shook their donation buckets at the gathered crowd who turned up to show their support for the two-week long event that celebrates a 43-year history of being out and proud.

Lainie took to the stage alongside drag queen extraordinaire, Prada Clutch, to deliver a calm, cool and collected speech about why and how the Lobby still plays an extremely important role in the NSW gay and lesbian communities. She explained how we have always been, and are still working unglamorously behind the scenes, supported only by the generosity of the public and our members. In less than two hours we managed to raise an impressive $200!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated on the night and to those who continue to support the NSW Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby through volunteering, donations or membership. And don’t forget, membership is now available online!
