- 13 August 2014 - GLRL marks 10 years since adoption of federal ban on marriage equalityThe NSW Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL) are today marking the 10th anniversary of the federal Parliament’s ban on marriage equality. The ban, passed by the Senate ten years ago, enshrined the definition of marriage as exclusively between a man and woman, and has led to legislative inequality for many committed couples who want to tie the knot in their own country, but are unable to do so.

| 14 May 2014 - GLRL welcomes end of Homosexual Advance Defence The NSW Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL) today welcomed the passage of the Crimes Amendment (Provocation) Bill 2014 through the NSW Parliament, which signals the end of the most homophobic legal defence on the statute books in NSW. The Bill effectively removes the legal foundation for the use of the Homosexual Advance Defence, a common-law creation of the partial defence of provocation, in cases involving a non-violent sexual advance.
