Diversity Statement

The Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby respects and values diversity among and between lesbian and gay people.

We acknowledge that all people have multiple identities, resulting in both differences and shared experiences based on sex and gender identity, ethnicity, age, geography, socioeconomic status, disability, religion, citizenship, etc. We also acknowledge that diversity is complex and multidimensional and that not only can identities change over time, but that people’s access to resources and opportunities relates to the interplay of their identities in a given context.

We particularly acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land throughout NSW and the whole of Australia, and their continuing connections to land and community in the face of many challenges. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elders of past, present and future generations as the first peoples of Australia.

We strive to be proactively inclusive of diversity within the scope of our work.
