THE RIGHTS STUFF GLRL Newsletter 2004

Pride Week 2004 ran from Saturday 26th June to Sunday 4th July, with GLRL joining other community organisations to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots. This year, we held a picnic event in conjunction with Rainbow Babies and Kids, an organisation for lesbian parents and their children.

The GLRL provided a pony and a sausage sizzle for the kids and parents. We had over 70 participants on the day, including new faces and people who were part of the inception of Rainbow Babies and Kids back in 1999. The Homotones played great songs and added to the festive air of the day.
Thanks to Somali Cerise (and Foo Foo), David Noonan and all the volunteers who helped make the day a success.

If you’d like to get in touch with Rainbow Babies & Kids, contact Kerry or Wendy on (02) 9745 2990.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to making Pride Week a success.

If you feel strongly that our families should be afforded equal treatment under the law, don’t forget to send a postcard to NSW Minister for Community Services Carmel Tebbutt, Premier Bob Carr and Attorney General Bob Debus via the GLRL Family is Family is Family campaign.
